Regarding the 10th Children’s and Youth Conference“MY FAMILY – PART OF MULTINATIONAL LITHUANIA”
Dear teachers and leaders of folklore ensembles,
The Lithuanian Centre of Folk Culture and Ethnography of National Minorities, together with Vilnius Bronius Jonušas Music School, kindly invites you and your students to participate in the 10th Children’s and Youth Conference “My Family – Part of Multinational Lithuania”, dedicated to the Year of National Communities, commemorated in accordance with the Resolution of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania of 15 October 2024.
The conference will take place on 7 November 2026 at 10:00 at Vilnius Town Hall.
This conference is an excellent opportunity for your students to express their creativity, artistic interpretation, and personal perspective on the importance of family and the culture of national communities in Lithuania. Participants will present reports inspired by family histories, national traditions, and multicultural life experiences. They are encouraged to explore connections between family values, the culture of national communities, and folklore traditions.
Conference objectives
• To provide children and youth with an opportunity to explore the culture of national communities in Lithuania and the diversity of family traditions.
• To encourage interest in the multicultural history and culture of Lithuania.
• To foster respect not only for one’s own family and nation but also for all communities living in Lithuania.
• To develop students’ social skills, their ability to prepare and present reports, and to strengthen emotional intelligence.
We invite you to actively participate and help create a memorable celebration dedicated to the Year of National Communities!
Possible presentation topics
Topics may vary widely; the key requirement is that they reflect children’s perspectives on family, the culture of national communities, and life in multicultural Lithuania.

• Additional formats allowed: PowerPoint presentations, video, and audio materials.
